After first one cesarean section operation normal delivery can be attempted .It is called as VBAC (Vaginal Birth after Cesarean). There are certain criteria’s for allowing normal delivery after LSCS:
A. Vertex presentation (baby by it head towards birth canal).
B. Bony pelvis of mother should be adequate enough to allow baby to pass (we do internal exam at 37 or 38 weeks of pregnancy to assess the same).
C. Labour pains should start spontaneously d. Delivery should be done at such place where facility for immediate LSCS (If required) are available.

Taking medicine during pregnancy has good effect on mother’s health. Medicines keep mothers hemoglobin at optimal level. Calcium supplement prevents bone loss from mothers bone during pregnancy and lactation. Protein supplementation during pregnancy ensures baby organ growth to be optimal.

Mother’s milk is best for baby so whether it is cesarean delivery or normal delivery mother’s milk to be offered to baby within half an hour after delivery. It helps build a bond between mother and baby. It helps build immunity of baby. It helps reduce blood loss after delivery. Exception for early milk are Traceo-esophageal fistula in baby and premature birth where milk to be given after consultation with pediatrician.
It is long practice in India to drink warm water after few months after delivery. But it hasn’t any benefits but surely has some disadvantages. Warm water is not consumed as much as that of cold water, so milk secretion decreases. Stool hardens and it leads to fissure in anal canal leading to pain and bleeding per anus. So after delivery plenty of water to be consumed that of room temperature. If there is question about water purity then boiled water to be consumed after letting it cool down completely.
In painless delivery doctor uses some medicine to relive pain arising from uterine contractions. There are different methods for that. Commonest method used is giving pain killer injections to make pains bearable. Another method is to use a small tube to infuse drugs directly in epidural space of spinal cord to make nerve block , so that patient doesn’t feel any pain.
Use of labour analgesia increases chances of instrumental delivery like ventouse or forceps delivery. But analgesia used at right time of labour in fact increases chances of normal delvery.
